Unlike "standard" Komplete releases, which are a selection of popular products in the Komplete product line, Ultimate bundles contain the entire Komplete catalog of software products as of a specific date which Native Instruments specifies.

To satisfy my own curiosity, and to help my fellow KLFs (Komplete Lovin' Fools), I spent a fair amount of time compiling the contents and release information of every Komplete bundle since the series debuted.Ĭlick image to view the Komplete product version comparison worksheet.

Product Comparison of all Komplete VersionsĮvery year or two when a new Komplete release looms, music message boards light up with users asking, "If I have version X of Komplete, what would I gain by upgrading to version Y?" This hasn't always been an easy question to answer, because Native Instruments preserves very little information about older products on their site. No other single virtual instrument publisher offers quite the breadth and depth that the Komplete series has consistently delivered since that first big blue box hit store shelves. When they packed their nine best products into one giant box and dubbed it "Komplete," the message was clear: Why go anywhere else for software instruments when everything you need is right here? Today's Komplete Ultimate bundles are the soft-synth equivalent of Waves Mercury. In 2003, a seven year old Native Instruments knew what it wanted to be when it grew up: The dominant force in virtual music instruments.

UPDATE (August 1, 2016): The comparison chart has now been updated for Komplete 11! Please see the new " Native Instruments Komplete Version Comparison 2.0" for the latest updates on Komplete bundles. Cheers.UPDATE (May 7, 2020): I am no longer able to stay on top of this stuff, but user gNNY from the Native Instruments forum has continued my work with his own version of the database. To the best of my knowledge, this approach is not documented anywhere, so it is, theoretically, subject to change at any time without notice. It should now detect the factory library, and spend some time indexing it and/or receiving therapy.

Then, double-click on the newly-created name and in the “Value Data” field that appears, paste the full path to your Battery 4 Factory Library folder.Ĭlick Ok, close the Registry Editor, and run Battery.

Set the name of the new value to “ContentDir” (without the quotes). Then, right-click on the “Battery 4 Factory Library” folder, and choose New–> String Value. All you have to do is open up regedit and navigate to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Battery 4 Factory Library”. However, there is a solution, at least on Windows. When you open the preferences screen, this is all you’ll see: Native Instruments’ directions for changing the library location won’t work. Spoiler Alert: If you finish the installation in this manner, you will not be able to specify the library location directly inside Battery.

And let’s say you tell the installer not to install Battery’s factory library, because you already have it on a separate hard drive from a prior installation. So let’s say you’re doing a clean installation of Native Instruments Battery or Komplete.
